College Algebra

From the rules of numbers to functions that model the real world.

This is a full college algebra course built from Robert Blitzer's well-known textbook, College Algebra Essentials. It runs over two semesters of twelve weekly classes each -- one class every Saturday, a single two-to-three hour session -- and takes you from the basic rules of numbers all the way to exponential, logarithmic and rational functions. Each Saturday you watch that week's video together, a moderator answers your questions as you go, and you work real problems with Claude Code at your side to check every step, so you come away actually able to do the algebra, not just watch it.

Two semesters, 24 classes in all, one class a week -- a single two-to-three hour Saturday session. The syllabus is open to everyone; each class's lesson opens for subscribers. It is included in the one $13.99/month subscription.

Semester 1

The Building Blocks: Numbers, Equations and Functions

You start with the rules that all of algebra rests on -- numbers, exponents, radicals, polynomials and factoring -- and use them to solve equations and inequalities. By the end you meet the idea of a function and can read its graph.

Semester 2

Functions That Model the World

You go deeper into functions -- lines, parabolas, polynomials, rational, exponential and logarithmic -- and learn to change, combine and solve with them, so you can describe real situations. Claude Code checks every step with you.
