You can build a real business out of looking after other people’s websites, and you do not need to already know how. The idea is simple. Other people own websites. Those websites need somebody to keep them working. You become that person, and you get paid for it, month after month.

Contract me when you need serious help. That means you can hire me for the hard parts while the customer stays yours and the money stays yours. You are never handing the client over to somebody else.

I will teach you how to do the work yourself. You take the files that a website is made of and open them in Antigravity, which is a program for working on the instructions that make a website run. Then you use Claude Code, which is a helper that writes and changes those instructions for you when you tell it in plain words what you want. Together you do the real job:

• Build the machines the website needs on Amazon Web Services, usually shortened to AWS. That means renting computers from Amazon over the internet instead of buying and keeping your own.
• Clean up and update the website itself, so it is tidy and current rather than old and broken.
• Test it properly once it is ready, so you find the problems before the customer does.
• Put it live on those rented computers.
• Keep looking after it afterwards, which is the part people pay for every month.

If you are good at selling, this is a very good way to earn. You are the one talking to the customer, so you are the one who names the price.

Most site monitoring tells you something is wrong and then leaves the job to you. This is different. It is an agent, which means a helper you can talk to in ordinary words, and it can carry out real work on your server once you say yes.

Nothing on your server ever changes on its own. The agent looks, works out what it would do, and writes down the exact change as a suggestion. You read that suggestion and press the button. Until you do, nothing has happened. That rule is built into how the software is put together, not a setting somebody could forget to switch on.

What it can look at for you:

• How much room is left on the disk, whether each website is running or has stopped, and how many people visited.
• Every piece of installed software on the machine — the operating system’s own, Python’s, and any Node or Ruby ones it finds — and which of them have a newer version waiting.
• Which of those updates look dangerous. It marks an update as likely to break your website rather than letting you find out afterwards.
• A plain summary of how safe the server currently is.
• For a website you look after: which parts of it — the main program, its appearance, and its add-ons — are out of date.

What it can do, once you confirm:

• Install the operating system’s updates, either all of them or only the ones that fix security problems.
• Update the Python software a chosen website depends on.
• Run a full clean-up and update of the operating system.
• Remove installed software that nothing on the machine is using any more.
• Update one exact part of a website you look after — a single add-on, its appearance, or the main program.
• Start a website back up if the regular health check finds it stopped.
• Repair your own code when an update would otherwise break it. It reads how your website really uses that piece of software, reads what changed in the new version, and then writes a complete corrected version of every file that needs one — or tells you honestly that it has no safe fix, instead of guessing. You see the exact change first, and no file is touched until you confirm.

A backup is always confirmed before an update is applied, and if a check cannot be completed it is shown to you as failed rather than quietly left showing yesterday’s numbers as though they were today’s.
