Choose your state and this will show you what it can find, and always the office that runs the elections where you are.

This box asks Google’s Civic Information service. That is a service Google runs which lists elections it knows about. Every time you press “Search”, this page asks it one question, and the count at the top of this page goes up by one. Whatever Google answers, the office that runs elections where you live is always shown underneath.

It asks by state, and not by town, and that is not a shortcut. We tried asking by town and it cannot be done. Google will not accept a town and a state on their own at all, and when it is given a full street address in a state it does cover, it gives back no list of the things being voted on and no town office either. Every election it knows about today is for a whole state or for the whole country, so a town would have nothing to narrow. There is no free national list of town elections anywhere, which is why the office named below matters: they are the people who hold that list for where you live, and asking them costs nothing.

Your state is only used inside this page and is never sent to Google as an address. Further down, once an election is found, you can choose to type a real street address to see what is on the ballot there specifically — that address, and only that address, is sent to Google, and only when you choose to type one and press Search a second time.
