Searches sometimes give false results. Asking about a bill or law in a Google search will validate the data even better by correlating the data.

How to Research a Political Candidate Before You Vote

Before you vote for anyone, it helps to search the internet for a few simple questions using their name. These are the questions that show what a person running for office has actually done, not just what they say about themselves.

What government offices has the candidate held, and for how long?
Which other people who already hold government office support the candidate?
Which bills has the candidate supported?
Which bills has the candidate opposed?

It also helps to ask these same four questions about the people who already hold office and support this candidate. Doing that gives you a clearer picture of what the candidate is likely to do in office, because people who support each other in politics often want the same things done.
